The Exfoliating Handbook For Men

Exfoliating your skin just makes sense. Not only will it remove dead skin cells, but it will also maximise the effect of the products you’re already using because it will ensure you’re not layering them on top of dead skin cells. And guess what? You don’t have to exfoliate every day. Most men only need to exfoliate twice a week.

There are a few different kinds of exfoliators, but the easiest to use is a scrub. A face scrub provides mechanical exfoliating through the use of beads or granules to physically remove dead cells from the surface of your skin. So with the right face scrub, you’ll cultivate a truly gleaming mug.

How frequently should an exfoliator be used?

Unlike a facial cleanser, which should be used daily, exfoliating should be done twice a week. If you have really sensitive skin, only exfoliate once a week. Face scrubs offer a more thorough cleansing procedure, leaving you with clean, healthy skin. If you use it every day, you’ll wind up scraping away perfectly healthy skin, causing irritation and possibly blemishes.

How to use an exfoliating scrub

Begin by squeezing a pea-sized amount onto your fingertip and spreading it evenly across your fingers. Then, apply it to your face in circular movements. A gentle scrub is all that is required for the exfoliator to work. Avoid forcefully rubbing the product into your skin. This will produce micro-tears and may lead to inflammation. Scrub for no more than 15 to 30 seconds, then rinse your face.
